Pethers Rainforest Retreat is a striking property located in the Gold Coast Hinterland at Tamborine Mountain, set in 12 acres of privately owned, untouched ancient rainforest and within easy access of 9 national parks. Pethers is an ecotourism resort where just 5 trees were removed for building... and 3000 new ones planted. It is an exclusive weekend retreat in an idyllic setting for a romantic weekend getaway. The Retreat is set amongst water gardens with an Asian influence and offering peace and tranquillity, seclusion and romance. With just 6 individual, elegantly appointed rainforest treehouses which interconnect with the main lodge, privacy is assured.

Accommodation

Designed for couples, all with verandah and outdoor settings, rainforest outlooks and none intrude upon another. The tree houses have curved roofs following the shape of the trees, 5 metre high glass walls, open plan bedrooms with double spas and a lounge which is slightly sunken. Bathrooms are granite and floors are polished timber. Each treehouse is graced with antique Asian furniture, leather lounges, fireplace, large screen television and full sound system. Beds are king size and claw-footed and are quite opulent. There are plenty of cushions scattered around and a bar fridge tucked away in a cupboard. All are connected by undercover walkways to the main lodge.

Dining
Meals and BYO drinks are taken in the main lodge, with 7 metre curved ceilings and glass walls allowing the beauty of the rainforest to be enjoyed without interruption. Sumptuous breakfasts are included - lunches, dinners & picnic hampers are by arrangement. Stroll along undercover walkways and beside water gardens while you discover the beauty that encompasses the environment and the entire retreat. Or take a picnic along the private walkway through the rainforest to the nearby waters of Sandy Creek.

Activities
The retreat can advise you with sightseeing tours to the nearby National Parks, Tamborine Mountain wineries, local restaurants, markets, galleries and the famous Gallery Walk. Many activities beckon, from Harley Davidson tours, golf, hang gliding, horse drawn carriage tours, horse riding, or just a private picnic lunch. Treat yourself or your loved one to a relaxing massage and rejuvenate your mind and body in the privacy of your treehouse. All treatments are provided by an experienced therapist who is qualified in massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. In the evening relax in the main lodge, with the large island fireplace providing just the right ambience for a quiet game of chess or backgammon, enjoying a good book or relaxing and socialising with other guests.

Getting There
Located 105km south of Brisbane Airport, approximately 1½ hrs by road, and 80km west of Coolangatta Airport, approximately 1 hr by road. The winding road to Lamington Plateau is through scenic rainforests and features spectacular lookouts and is best/safest during daylight hours. Daily coach services provide transfers from Brisbane & the Gold Coast and scenic heli transfers can also be arranged.

If you want to enhance the calming experience, Pethers Rainforest Retreat can arrange a variety of treatments and therapies, by an experienced therapist qualified in massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. There are plans to introduce a day health spa facility including a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and more.
