Two grades of rooms which are all generously spacious, with polished timber floors and elegant interiors, appointments are stylish and comfortable. Treehouses are set into the rainforest and surrounded by lush gardens providing zip king beds and a double sofa option. Floor to ceiling glass doors open onto a wide verandah where a hammock is perfectly positioned to make the most of picturesque views. One room has limited handicap facilities. The premium Riverhouses are in prime riverfront location with spectacular rainforest and river views, an oversized spa bath, a zip king bed and many special inclusions. Riverhouse guests also enjoy premium sparkling wine and a deluxe tropical fruit basked on arrival.

Dining
The tariff includes tropical buffet breakfast and 4 course dinner with a nightly changing menu. The Treehouse is an open sided restaurant, enveloped by the rainforest canopy offering sensational rainforest and river views - one of Northern Queensland's premier dining experiences. The innovative menu features the freshest local produce and fine Australian wines. The resort has several inviting lounge areas and bars positioned above the Mossman River, providing spectacular views of the Daintree Rainforest for afternoon teas and evening cocktails. Gourmet picnic hampers are available for day excursions.

Activities
Visitors can drift down the Daintree in small boats or pad along rainforest paths to plunge into cool, clear water holes. This stretch of the Mossman River is too cold for crocodiles but watch out for the platypus that lives in the lagoon under the Silky Oaks veranda restaurant. Silky Oaks Lodge provides a conference venue with a difference. Located close to the Great Barrier Reef and Cape Tribulation with both as sensational locations for group activities. The Kubirri Room in the main Lodge is well equipped to manage small conferences, training sessions and think-tanks, providing for 25 in theatre and 15 in boardroom. The Daintree Pavilion can provide for 100 in a theatre configuration.

Getting There
Located 83km north of Cairns Airport, approximately 75 mins by road or 20 mins by helicopter to a nearby helipad. It is on the northern bank of the Mossman River Gorge, 7km from Mossman and 27km to Port Douglas. A range of transfer options are available to assist you including coach, hire car, private limousine and self-drive. The scenic drive on the sealed main highway takes you from Cairns via Port Douglas and no 4WD or ferry crossing is needed except in extreme monsoon weather. A resort coach service to and from Port Douglas operates daily for guests.

Spa
Silky Oaks Lodge Healing Waters Spa is inspired by our ancient and sacred river and rainforest. Recent additions link the existing spa to a new wing offering an indoor/outdoor relaxation area to allow guests to enjoy the rainforest environment before, during and after treatments. The new wing houses a reception area and additional treatment rooms include two single massage rooms and a vichy room. A dramatic signature treatment room opens out to a deck that offers glorious rainforest and river views.

Golf
Mirage Country Club Port Douglas is just 20 mins away and is a golfer's paradise. Rated as one of the world's best resort courses, the 18 hole international standard championship golf course was designed by renowned golf architect Peter Thomson, and contains the usual combination of 6 par 3, 6 par 4 and 6 par 5 holes all within two quite different 9's with the bordering Coral Sea and the panoramic mountain backdrop providing the only distractions to a memorable round. The golf course also has a Pro Shop, aquatic driving range, practice putting green and bunkers, and professional golf instructors.

The lodge is an adult retreat and children under 10 years are not catered for.
